With this application you can easily search for an animal species’ videos or photos on three of the most well known social media networks. All you have to do is start writing its name (scientific or common name in English and Portuguese) and choose the one you’re looking for from the drop down box. You can also get the related Wikipedia article if there is any available.
For example if you would like to search for beluga (wale) on picasa, you would need to take the following steps.
We recommend you to do your search using the scientific species name to try to avoid any multimedia tagging inaccuracy. This happens if the multimedia file was tagged with an expression that is identical to an animal species name. In this case, when you’re doing your search, our website will find these files, even if it isn’t related to biodiversity. If this happens you will have to visually filter the results.
